Stage II: Expansion and growth
This stage includes the following actions:
- Urban development extension: 35,000 m2.
- Urban development extension: 60,000 m2.
- Building Business Offices.
This stage consolidates the definitive take off of the project. With the completion of the research buildings initially planned and the incorporation to the park of more important entrepreneurial initiatives, a reference point is achieved for other initiatives which can give more credibility to this project.
The main objective now is the analysis and assessment of the results obtained. On the basis of the revision study of objectives and the evolution of demand, a new stage of building construction, both from public and private initiative, to host new business ventures is planned. Within this revision process, the outcomes from the promotion activities for innovation and entrepreneurial culture carried out up to that moment are analyzed and on that basis, new activities are scheduled.
Also in this stage the construction of the necessary infrastructure to finish the urban development works in the 95,000 m2 area is completed. Those works allow to start building new premises and considering a wider policy to attract more important business initiatives.
From the point of view of the businesses to be established in the Park, this stage implies a greater effort to promote the project. On the one hand, the Entrepreneurial Centre, head office of the Park, is operating and includes a technology- based business incubator. Supporting the management task of the incubator we have the advice of the European Business and Innovation Centre (CEEI). On the other hand the R&D Centre for Business, a 5,000 m2 building, designed to host R&D centres, which can improve the process of technology transfer by bringing closer the two basic elements of the innovation system: Public Centres for R&D and entrepreneurial R&D Centres. A business Bioincubator is also built in the University Campus of Albacete, next to the School of Medicine and a business incubator in the Campus at Ciudad Real.
